Brochure Assignment Ideas

For the brochure assignment, I've decided that I'd like to create a brochure for potential new members of Zeta Tau Alpha. What this brochure will include is what Zeta stands for, the rush process, and important dates and events for new members. I wanted to create an informative brochure on a topic that I found to be both interesting and insightful.

When it comes to the front cover of my brochure, I was thinking of using a script-like text for  the title to give it a feminine, royal appearance. As far as the image on the cover, I'm going to use a photo of a crown that says "ZTA" on it to instantly allow readers to see what this brochure is going to entail. The inside front panel will be my reader's first impression, so I wanted to keep the design of it fairly simple, but informative. I was thinking about giving a little bit of history behind our chapter, as well as briefly describing who we are and what we stand for. In part with discussing who we are, I was thinking of including our philanthropy, which is breast cancer. To tie in with our philanthropy, I was going to include one (possibly two) photos of Zeta members during Think Pink week.

The inside three panel spread is where I want my design and color scheme to come alive. I was planning on having various images of Zeta staggered along the top of the brochure and spread across all three panels. As far as my text, I was going to have each panel flow into the next, with the second and third panel almost sharing text space. I was going to start with introducing the rush process on the left-most panel, leading into Bid Day, and incorporating the duties of new members of Zeta in the right-most panel. Color will come into play on the second and third panel, to express unity between the two panels and the information given. The back cover of my brochure is going to include a photo of the entire Zeta chapter, and the contact information of the chapter. I'm going to attempt to keep the back cover as simple as possible, because most readers don't even make it to the back page. I also don't want the back of the brochure to reveal any information that is illustrated inside of the brochure.
